Adam C. Briley spent 24 years as a Navy SEAL and Defense Tech Innovator, and he is now the CEO and Founder of Atlas Arc Advisors. His military career spanned both leading tactical combat operations and serving at the nexus of defense technology, innovation, and investing - working to bring advanced technology into the DoD and incentivizing private capital to invest in technology that supports U.S. National Security. As Senior Vice President of Innovation and Applied Research within Naval Special Warfare, he led efforts to identify and advance mid-level Technology Readiness Level solutions with high potential for special operations applications, establishing strategic partnerships with technology companies to accelerate the maturation of emerging capabilities.
He currently serves as Director of Federal Solutions at J2 Ventures, where he identifies and evaluates investment opportunities in pre-seed to Series A dual-use technology startups. In this role, Adam cultivates relationships across the defense technology ecosystem, managing U.S. Government relations, fostering connectivity with National Laboratories, and building strategic community partnerships that bridge the gap between emerging technology companies and critical national security stakeholders. He provides operational guidance to portfolio companies on navigating defense procurement processes and translating technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for both government and commercial clients.
Adam holds an MBA candidate status from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Master of Arts in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. He is actively involved in veteran transition support through The Mandatum Foundation and mentors students at MIT on national security innovation projects.
